Want to know what it’s like to work with us at
UNC Physicians Network?

From our nurses to our physicians to our support staff, everyone at UNC Physicians Network does everything in their power to deliver the best possible care to the people of North Carolina. It’s a special type of work environment. One where we all share equally in the mission and vision of UNC Physicians Network and everyone gets the support they need to grow their skills, their abilities and their career. But don’t take our word for it. We went to the people who know best—our employees. Discover what they have to say below.

  • Ashley

    Ashley McQueen

    RN Clinical Coordinator

UNC really promotes being part of a team and they back it up by offering courses and classes for their employees to learn how to collaborate.

As part of a multi-disciplinary team piloting a new care model in the network, Ashley never has a typical day. There are a lot of moving parts and they all need to work well for the office to function. Successful patient care is a team effort and she’s at the heart of it, managing the medical assistants in the clinic and lending a helping hand when it’s needed.

  • Haley

    Haley Tussey

    Physicians Practice Manager

They really believe in education here. That’s one of the key benefits, I feel, of working here. I’m going back for my MBA and, with tuition reimbursement, I’ll be able to make that happen without a huge financial burden.

Haley’s position requires the ability to wear many hats, which means going from budgeting to recruiting to preparing marketing ideas and beyond, in a single day. But she wouldn’t be able to accomplish everything she does without a great team. Every morning, she’s part of a huddle-up with practice managers who share ideas and discuss schedules and staffing needs. Haley works in a pediatric office, so she and her team are constantly thinking of ways to make going to the doctor less scary for kids. It’s just one way they try to bring great care to the people of North Carolina.

  • Eugene

    Illunga Eugene Chalwe

    Practice Administrator

I feel very supported here, and the team-based approach to care really helps stimulate growth and participation of everyone in the practice.

It takes a team to bring great care to the people of North Carolina. Some people, like nurses or physicians, are visible. Others like Illunga do their work behind the scenes. From management of resources to financial and operations reporting, he works to centralize resources, streamline operations and make the office he’s a part of more efficient and effective.
